Park West Health System's mission is to provide quality comprehensive health care services to individuals residing in our communities in an efficient and effective manner, as well as, improve access to primary care services for our communities with attention to medically under-served populations.
Park West Health System's explicit purpose continues to be the delivery of comprehensive health care services to individuals residing in a medically underserved area. The Board of Directors is composed of users of services, providers, and the community at large with equal representation of all classes except the user category, which must be represented by 51%. From the point of entry to the point of egression, Park West Health System emphasizes continuity of care in the treatment of the patient. In furtherance of such purpose, the corporation’s goals are:
- To conduct research and study of presently existing health care facilities, and the health care needs of the public and to implement the findings of such research and study through appropriate means in furtherance of the corporation’s purposes.
- To attract and establish a full range of health services to be made available to the community.
- To encourage the broadest possible participation by individuals and groups and maximum citizen participation in the health care plans in accordance with these purposes.
- To develop programs of preventive health care and health education to meet the needs of the community and in all cases to coordinate these programs with existing health care services.
- To establish appropriate financial assistance programs to benefit the public in using the health services to be established.
- To promote community action to further the corporate purposes in its response to the health care needs of the public.
The Center presently offers Adult Medicine & Geriatrics, Pediatrics & Adolescent, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Social Work, Dentistry, Family Planning, Hearing & Vision Screening, WIC Certification, Health Education, Pharmacy, Hidden Garden Program and Laboratory Services. Specialty services by referral include but are not limited to: Otolaryngology, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Home Health Care, Podiatry, and Radiology. Today Park West Health System, Inc. serves over 15,000 patients annually.
