March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

Did you know that the rate of colorectal cancer (commonly referred to as colon cancer) has been decreasing for most of the past two decades?  One of the reasons is because more people are getting tested, or screened, for this disease.  Screening can detect and remove colon growths called polyps before they progress to cancer. Colon cancer can sometimes be prevented.  If you are age 50 or older, talk to your doctor at Park West about getting tested for colon cancer.
